As a Pilot Manager at TUI, you'll play a crucial role in our Flight Operations team, supporting the Lead Pilot Manager to deliver best practice in managing our flexible pilot workforce while embracing our company vision and fostering a positive, blame-free culture.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • You'll lead, manage and develop up to 300 pilots throughout their employee lifecycle, from onboarding to promotions, ensuring consistent regulatory compliance and driving an effective, high-performing pilot workforce.
  • Working closely with HR and other departments, you'll proactively manage pilot performance to maintain and improve their knowledge and competence.
  • We'll rely on you to deliver industry-leading welfare support to our pilots, ensuring all relevant processes are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Through effective organisation and regular base visits, you'll maintain visibility and accessibility to all pilots within your responsibility.
  • You'll create and maintain a positive, blame-free culture where pilots feel valued and trust the management team.
  • Communication is key in this role as you'll ensure all pilot communications are delivered in a timely and effective manner.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • You have proven experience in people management with the ability to motivate and develop staff while delivering excellent welfare support.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities are essential for this role, allowing you to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • You possess the ability to understand both the detail and the bigger picture, balancing operational, strategic, and commercial needs.
  • Experience in industrial and employee relations within environments with active union representation will help you succeed in this position.
  • You're a collaborative leader and communicator who can lead a diverse and remote community with personal credibility.
  • Comfort and confidence with Microsoft Office applications will support your day-to-day responsibilities in this role.
