As Ground Operations Duty Manager (TOCC) you will be integral in the delivery of the TUI Airline operation during your shift. You will work closely with the TUI Airline Operations Control Centre (TOCC) team and will

be the subject matter expert with regards to our airport and ground handling operations. You will seek to maximise Ground Operations performance, mitigate delays, minimise disruption to our customers and ensure
we deliver operational excellence, with a primary focus on our non-manned home bases and destination airports. This position will offer 24/7 ground operations expertise and support for the TOCC Operations
Control team and the wider Ground Operations team.

In this role you’ll report to the Ground Ops Flight Coordination Manager, and whilst on shift will escalate operational issues to the TOCC Network Operations Manager. 

This role is shift based covering a 24h/365 day flexible shift pattern and will be based fully onsite within the TUI Operations Control Centre (TOCC)

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Support the operational delivery of the TUI ground operation through collaboration with the TOCC Team. You'll need a good awareness of ground handling agreements and SLA’s, to ensure operational services are being delivered as required
  • Use the Ground Operations Turnaround Analysis tool to proactively monitor ground activity across the outstation and non-manned home-base network, mitigating disruption and ensuring issues are resolved
  • Develop strong communication and relationships with the TOCC, our airport based teams and our suppliers to ensure a seamless service for delivering operational excellence, ensuring Ground Operations safety and security procedures are followed
  • Act as a ground operations subject matter expert to support the TOCC Network Operations Team in managing ground handling issues or disruption
  • Provide the TOCC with escalation support with our Ground Operations contracted suppliers to ensure high performance, effective planning, and command & control activities
  • Act as the initial Ground Ops contact for airport disruption & crisis events, feeding relevant information into the TOCC and wider Ground Ops teams
  • Provide comprehensive shift reporting, sharing ideas for operational efficiency and improvements, and escalating issues for follow-up and review by wider Ground Ops stakeholders
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Ground Operations systems (e.g. GoNow & iPort DCS, eLoadsheet, Turnaround Tool)

ABOUT YOU

You'll need

  • Strong operational knowledge of Ground Handling in an airport environment
  • Excellent coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple ground handling issues across regions
  • The ability to prioritise operational issues and evidence of working successfully in a fast-paced highpressure environment
  • Effective communication skills, easily able to articulate ideas and instructions across multiple nationalities, and able to build strong local relationships whilst upholding our TUI Values
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • Be self-driven and proactive, capable of working independently while contributing to team goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, and confidence in using internal systems and reporting tools
  • Fluency in business English, both written and spoken; comfortable working in an international environment and occasionally travelling if required. Other languages are an advantage
  • Flexibility: These roles are deployed and based in our operation centre and as such they will be based around a 24h flexible shift pattern. The role could involve short-term deployment to other TUI stations to provide operational support during disruption and/or crisis
