We're looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our team and create innovative algorithms that solve real business challenges, drive smart decisions, and deliver meaningful impact for our customers.

ABOUT THE JOB  

• As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be working with your fellow team members to create and provide sophisticated solutions across the whole TUI Group. Working on different business objectives and problems will require your excellent understanding of the context and challenges. As an experienced partner you will combine your excellent technical skills and widespread business understanding to maximise the value that your work delivers.
• You are accustomed to work with stakeholder both technical and non-technical, junior and senior and tailor your communication to meet their demand and expectation. You break down complexity to a relatable level and communicate key points, where necessary making use of effective data visualisations. You manage your own projects in an agile manner, help more junior colleagues to break down their tasks, in order to meet deadlines and maximise value.
• You will work in a fast-paced team of experts with a passion for AI technology. It works across the whole TUI Group with the mission to find new ways of bringing value to our customers, stay ahead of the evolving customer demand and solve yet unsolved business challenges. Whilst you are building prototypes to proof the value of a solution with less empathies on production ready design, the projects you will support to accelerate into production will need your expertise in well build solutions.
• You like to solve business problems, automate processes, use cloud environments to your advantage and you are not hesitant to gain new technical skills. You will use your widespread understanding of the business to consult on possible solutions including their pros and cons and finding the best split between good enough and too complex. You are experienced in a wide range of different data science methods, including statistical models, machine learning and optimisation algorithms. Working with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and different data structures is something you are used too, and you can source the required data from different areas. 
• You will have the opportunity to do research, staying informed on new developments in the area of data science or a specific area applicable to you, evaluation of new options, revisiting productionised solutions to try new ways of improvement and sharing your gained knowledge with your team and the data science community, which you are actively helping to construct and organize.

ABOUT YOU 

• Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, mathematics, or related analytical field.
• Proven experience applying advanced data science methods to real-world business problems.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modelling, and data analysis, with proficiency in Python and SQL writing production-quality code.
• Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and platforms like Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of data architectures (e.g., Data Lakes, Data Warehouses) and DevSecOps in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative, agile development practices.
• Skilled in data visualisation and storytelling to communicate insights clearly and effectively.
• Customer-focused engineer with a passion for crafting high-quality digital products, continuous improvement, and effective team collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with an understanding of the social, legal, and ethical impact of AI technologies.
