Join our Operations Team in Sydney as Port Delivery Team Leader – Shore Excursions. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering smooth Shore Excursion/Turnaround operations, coaching and leading the Shore Excursion/Turnaround team and supporting the Port Delivery Team Manager in the completion of duties and all related logistics.

Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services is a specialist business providing cruise ship handling services to cruise lines in destinations throughout the world. You will be working closely with various cruise lines and their clients in their daily operations around Australia. This is a Sydney based role but you may be required to travel to some exciting destinations within the country.

This is a locally employed position. You must have the right to live and work in Australia before applying.

ABOUT YOU 

  • Team leading and coaching experience.
  • Have a methodical, organized approach towards the execution of assigned tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to use MS Office tools such as Excel, Teams, One Note & Outlook to high standards.
  • Is comfortable leading change and resilient to ambiguity or setbacks.
  • Solve problems independently and/or make suggestions how to improve ways of working.
  • A genuinely helpful, flexible, and professional personality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Previous experience in travel/tourism is advantageous.
  • Be available for weekends and early morning/ late evenings.


ABOUT THE JOB 

  • Coaching and leading a team, ensuring efficient and effective processes at the Port (Turnaround and/or Shorex) that include constant collaboration and coordination between the team members.
  • Coaching new team members to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Plan transportation logistics for Shore Excursion/ Turnaround/ Pre & Post tour programs throughout Australia.
  • Update suppliers on confirmed bookings and send all relevant information ahead of guest arrival.
  • Detailed logistical planning and execution for each individual operation at various ports throughout Australia, in accordance with standard operating procedures as outlined by the cruise client.
  • Support Port Delivery Team Manager by guaranteeing proper level of resources to deliver operations and managing staffing according to the needs of each operation.
  • Assist Port Delivery Team Manager to develop and maintain continuous communication with the cruise ships and both internal/external stakeholders, including Port Authorities.
  • Review and offer suggestions for improvement for all operations, in conjunction with the Port Delivery Team Manager.
  • Concise communication to staff/guides to ensure consistency and team players are aware of their roles each day.
  • Ensure operations are delivered within client operating guidelines and within budget and offer process efficiency improvements.
  • Be alert to working areas to ensure operations are run safely and be alert to incidents in the Ports. Offer suggestions for change processes to ensure repeat accidents do not occur.
  • Ensure clear and constant communication with shipboard personnel to review, update and arrange all final details.
  • Compile feedback on all post operations for action plans for improvement & efficiencies.
  • Steer correspondence and communication with other stakeholders involved in the operation.
  • Prepare all invoicing and financial data post operation.
  • Analyse and process supplier invoices pertaining to the operation and document accordingly.
  • Collaboration with other functional roles in the company (Supply Team and Commercial Team) to offer feedback and suggestions for continuous high service standards.
  • Completing post operation audit and client reports to ensure consistent high levels of service and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to stakeholder improvement meetings and safety meetings.
  • Responsible for the correct payment of staff (casual staff and guides).
